General Elections 2020
Singapore dissolved its parliament and went into an uncertain general election in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. With many restrictions in place, politicians had to figure out ingenious ways to reach out to members of the public — previously having relied on mass rallies. It was also a different experience for voters as well. People now moved to online spaces to debate policies and ideologies. Voting had also been split into different time slots for different age groups, with the elderly going first. I had the privilege of following the various political parties, listening to their ideas and observing their interactions — both physical and virtual — and responses to the happenings going on around them. While they had differing views, they all shared a common goal of making Singapore a better place.
